Our Mission

Mission

Passing ume to the next generation,
and to the world.

Ume is a precious gift that has long supported Japanese food culture and the health of its people. We see it as our mission to honor the craft and spirit passed down to us by those who came before — to carry it faithfully into the next generation, and to share the value of ume with people around the world.
From cultivating the soil to processing and selling, we approach every step with full commitment, pursuing both the true flavor and the health value that ume holds. We aim to share Kishū ume with the world as "UME" — spreading a culture of health and wellbeing that began in Japan.

Our Vision

Vision

Expanding the possibilities of ume,
and building a healthier world
through Japan's gift of wellness.

Ume holds possibilities that have yet to be discovered. While honoring the tradition of umeboshi-making, we work to unlock that potential to the fullest — through new product development and fresh ideas for how ume can be enjoyed.
We pursue the health value of ume with curiosity and rigor, making it a more natural, everyday presence in people's lives. Through the power of ume — nurtured by Japan's unique climate and land — we aspire to contribute to the health and rich tables of people everywhere.

Our Values

Value

Inherit, and pass it on

We treasure the wisdom and craft passed down through generations, while continually refining it into a form that speaks to today.
We are committed to preserving umeboshi culture in a way that the next generation can be proud of.

Never take the shortcut

Ume is a food where every step demands time and care — and it is that time and care that builds the flavor.
Rather than choosing the easy path, we protect the safety and taste of our products by patiently doing what needs to be done.

Challenge beyond convention

We refuse to be limited by "the way things are," always asking ourselves: "Is there a better way?"
Believing in the boundless potential of ume, we continue to challenge ourselves to create new value — with open minds and a spirit of curiosity.

Message from the CEO

Because every jar finds its way to someone's table

Nakamine Farm was founded in 1994, right here in Tanabe City, Wakayama.

Umeboshi has long been a cherished part of the Japanese table — a quiet companion in everyday meals, a gift offered to someone you care about. Knowing that our customers choose our umeboshi for moments like these, we feel a deep sense of responsibility to live up to that trust. That feeling is what drives everything we do.

We select only the finest ume and craft each one with care, using traditional methods — every member of our team putting their whole heart into the work.
Going forward, we will continue making umeboshi that our customers can enjoy with complete peace of mind.
